Rendering Competition Recap

This weeks meeting involved an exciting and challenging rendering competition. All members where asked to sketch and render their depiction of a camera. Everyone had 45 minutes to do their best work in hopes to win one of three prizes. A group of judges agreed on the three best renderings and each of them walked away with a gift certificate to Blicks art supply store.

1st place Brian Nzomo
2nd place Joshua Cahoun
3rd place Connor McGoey

Great job guys!!!!

Marker Demo

In this meeting Connor demonstrated a few tips and tricks to bring out the best in all of our renderings. He started off with a basic coffee table sketch that soon turned into a great piece for his collection. Connors first step to the demonstration was to shade to all sides of the table with three levels of gray marker. He then went in with a white pencil to add a glare effect to the surfaces. He showed the club that with a simple shadow underneath the object and a brightly colored vinyeght in the background, we can make a simple rendering come alive. Connor finished off his drawing with a solid black border and his signiture to make it his own.
